Dolomites
The Dolomites are not so far from the campsite.
Go towards Treviso and take the highway at Treviso sud: proceed direction Belluno and in about one hour you are in the mountains.
Here is what we propose:
Cortina d’Ampezzo, “la perla delle Dolomiti”
Famous with the Italian jet set, surrounded by some of the most beautiful peaks of the Dolomites: Tofane, Cristallo, Faloria and Sorapiss, the Becco di Mezzodì, the Croda da Lago and gruppo del Nuvolau.
Take the Tofane cable car: 3 stops to reach 3 different huts and various panoramic scenes.
Tre Cime di Lavaredo
Nature’s beauty.
Can be reached by car, from Misurina, following the panoramic road (toll).
From the Auronzo hut you can do a three-hour walk around the Tre Cime, which is not difficult and can also be done by beginners.
Lake Misurina
An alpine lake situated at an altitude of 1,754 metres, surrounded by some of the most spectacular peaks in the Dolomites.
Known as the ‘Pearl of Cadore’, Lake Misurina captivates visitors with its crystal-clear waters, which reflect a truly enchanting mountain landscape of woods, rocky cliffs and majestic peaks.
Passo Falzarego e Lagazuoi
Park your car at the Passo Falzarego and take the cable car towards the Lagazuoi hut.
During the Big War Italians and Austrians fought here between the rocks. The place has now become seat of the Open-air Museum of Lagazuoi.
You can still see trenches, furnished caves and tunnels almost 2 km long, which can be visited easily.
Rifugio Nuvolau
If you would like to take an easy walk between the beautiful peaks of the Dolomites, we propose to park your car nearby the Fedare hut and to go up by foot or with the cable car towards the Averau hut (2413 m a.s.l.) We propose to halt at the Averau hut and to taste the exquisite cuisine of Paola (try the cappelli dell’Alpino!).
From here continue towards the Nuvolau hut (2575 m) on the peak of the homonym mountain (about 1 hour).
Altopiano del Cansiglio
Would you like to breathe some fresh air and do a pic nic between meadows and forests without going too far?
Take the highway A27 at Treviso sud and exit at Vittorio Veneto, then follow the indication for Altopiano del Cansiglio. Closer than the Dolomites (about 120 km), the Cansiglio (about 1000 m altitude) is an extraordinary environment for all kinds of activities: trekking, riding, golfing and cycling through the lovely meadows and forests.
At the Bar Bianco you can purchase cheese and other typical and biological products of the region of the Caseificio del Cansiglio.
