Burano and Mazzorbo: A Colorful Dream

Let yourself be transported on an enchanted journey to the islands of Burano and Mazzorbo, where time seems to have stood still. We’ll stroll among a rainbow of houses mirrored in silent canals, immersing ourselves in a fairytale atmosphere.

Burano

Our journey will begin at the lively Burano vaporetto landing stage, where we’ll wander among the picturesque, colorful houses that characterize the island. We’ll explore the heart of Burano, retracing the history of this pivotal place in the formation of Venetian culture. We’ll discover the ancient traditions that animate the island, from lacemaking to fishing, visiting iconic sites such as the ancient fish market and the historic shipyards.

Mazzorbo

We’ll then move to Mazzorbo, an island with an agricultural soul often overlooked in favor of the glittering Burano, but of great historical importance and inextricably linked to Venice.
Here we’ll explore the historical events of the Northern Lagoon, from the flight of the Venetian populations from the hinterland to the golden age of Mazzorbo, a thriving commercial and residential center that in the Middle Ages was second only to Torcello, forming a crucial
triangle of islands at the origins of Venice’s history.
