Kayak through the Venice lagoon
Quiet, eco-friendly and fun, kayaking is a very special way to discover the unique ecosystem of the Venice lagoon from a different perspective. Only by kayak can you move between the sandbanks and the shallower waters, look closely at the water birds, discover the colors and scents of the lagoon herbs, admire the reflections of the sunsets as you glide on the water. An unforgettable experience, suitable for everyone, which you can enjoy in different ways depending on your skills.
Here are some suggestions for you: 5 excursions in the lagoon accompanied by Roberta, an expert guide who will lead you to the lagoon, among the canals where the water is calm and only a few centimeters deep, or to Burano, telling curiosities and stories that only a local person knows.
Sunset tour
The sunset tour is an easy excursion, really suitable for everyone. Before leaving, Roberta will teach you how to paddle safely and then accompany you to discover the lagoon valleys of Cavallino for about 1 hour and a half. Don’t forget to bring your camera with you to capture beautiful shots.
It takes place every day starting at 7.00 pm from Fort Vecchio (in Via Lungomare San Felice, 96, Punta Sabbioni), the distance covered is a total of 5 km. The cost is €38 for adults and €30 for children under the age of 13.
The opening hours may vary slightly depending on the time of the season.
Barene Tour
On this kayak tour through the barene of the northern lagoon, you will discover the oldest and wildest part of the Venetian lagoon. The barene are stretches of land that emerge at low tide, covered with salt marsh vegetation and inhabited by a rich lagoon fauna. Here, time seems to slow down, birds dance in the wind and the silence tells ancient stories.
During the tour, you will discover the history of the lagoon, the important role of the sandbanks and the natural transformations that shape them day after day.
This tour is ideal for those who want to experience the lagoon essence, with its light, reflections, wind and silence. It is an invitation to discover Venice from a different, more intimate and deeper perspective.
The tour lasts 2.5 hours and takes place on Tuesdays at 8 a.m. and Thursdays at 5 p.m.
The tour costs €50 per person. Children up to 13 years old: €35 per participant (on a double kayak and accompanied by a parent).
Burano mit dem Kajak
Nachmittagstour zur Insel Burano, mit Überquerung der inneren Kanäle der Insel und Rückkehr nach Punta Sabbioni bei Sonnenuntergang.
Sie werden Treporti hinter sich lassen und die flache Gewässer des Crevan-Kanals durchqueren, vorbei an Sant’Erasmo und der Insel San Francesco del Deserto. Die Insel Burano heißt Sie willkommen und lässt Sie in einen seiner Kanäle einfahren. Sie werden die Insel mit dem Kajak erkunden und sich von den Farben dieses weltweit einzigartigen Ortes verzaubern lassen.
Die Tour dauert etwa 3 Stunden und findet mittwochs statt, mit Abfahrt um 17 Uhr.
Der Ausflug ist für Teilnehmer mit mittlerem Niveau geeignet. Die Strecke ist insgesamt etwa 10 km lang, Anlegen oder Zwischenstopps an Land sind nicht vorgesehen. Die Tour kostet 60 € pro Person.
Back channels - tour of Treporti
It is a route through the back channels of Treporti, where you can appreciate the mixture of urban and natural landscape, passing under bridges and discovering unusual corners of this small village to then find yourself in larger spaces where lagoon and nature become protagonists again. A varied and curious route, one of the favorites of families with children.
It takes place every Saturday morning, starting at 8.30 am from Forte Treporti in Punta Sabbioni, lasts about 2 hours for a distance of about 7 km.
Prices: €42 for adults, €30 for children under the age of 13.
Tour of Sant’Erasmo
The Sant’Erasmo tour is a different experience than all the other tours we offer. With this tour you will visit the isola del Bacan, which is the beach of Venice that appears and disappears with the tide. There you will have a stop, you can walk around and have a swim.
Then we will continue the tour to the island of Sant’Erasmo, where there is a possibility to have a drink at a bar, and relax a bit before returning back to the starting point.
It takes place every Wednesday starting at 8.30 am from Forte Vecchio (in Via Lungomare San Felice, 96, Punta Sabbioni). The tour is suitable for adults and kids. The cost is €50 for adults and €35 for children under the age of 13 acompanied by an adult.
Good to know
- Kayak rental and guided excursions in Italian and English are available throughout the year and organized by “Laguna Kayak”
- Excursions must be booked at the Experience Lab or at the Customer Care office of the campsite, at least 1 day in advance. A minimum number of participants is required for some excursions
- In case of adverse weather conditions, the excursion may be suspended and the guide will reschedule it to another date
- Personalized tours can be organized on request: the itinerary will be defined together with the guide who will provide information on availability and cost of the excursion
- Bring sunglasses and a hat, sunscreen, mosquito repellent, and a bottle of water.
