Dunes

We preserve dunes to help the ecosystem

These dunes you are looking at are much more than stripes of sand between the campsite and the sea. Dunes are ecological stepping stones where endangered species, both flora and fauna, find their places to live. Ecologically intact dunes protect the hinterland from spring floods, strong winds, and a rising sea level. They are natural buffers. These dunes are thus of critical importance for a safe and future-ready Ca’Savio.

The dunes around Camping Ca’Savio have been left in their original state as much as possible. We care about all local ecosystems and we care for the preservation of it. We always try to put nature first in our decision making, while not forgetting about the care of the guest. Over the years, several preservation projects were started in the local commune and within the Veneto region. Camping Ca’Savio has participated and supported all of them.

Also by ourselves we have worked hard to preserve and restore the natural habitat as much as possible. Mainly by leaving the dunes as protected as possible. This means that for certain periods of the season we close some of our entrances to the beach to protect and offer as much peace and quietness as possible to an endangered species, the Fratino bird (Charadrius alexandrinus) that usually nests in the dunes around Camping Ca’Savio.

Respect and preservation of native milieus and ecosystems is in the DNA of Ca’Savio. We are trying the best we can to leave the dunes, the wildlife and the fauna as untouched as possible. Please help us to keep these ecosystems and their protective functions as well for the campsite intact.
