Per favorire il ripristino della flora
Formed by the interplay of tides, winds, and plants that hold the sand in place, the dunes along our beach are vital for the coastal ecosystem and full of biodiversity. These natural formations help protect the shoreline and offer shelter to many species. That’s why we’re committed to respecting them and helping our guests understand their essential role in keeping the coast alive and resilient.
The dunes are a natural habitat for many plant and animal species, including some that are at risk of extinction—like the Kentish plover, a small bird that nests directly in the sand. In May, it’s not unusual to see fenced-off areas on the beach. These help protect the bird and give it a quiet, safe space to raise its chicks.
Ecologically intact dunes protect the inland areas from storm surges, strong winds, and rising sea levels. They act as natural buffers between land and sea. That’s why dunes are essential for both the sustainability and safety of the coastal environment.
We care deeply about all bioregional ecosystems and are committed to their protection. In everything we do, we try to put nature first—while also taking great care of our guests.
Over the years, several conservation projects have been launched to protect these ecosystems—both in Cavallino Treporti and throughout the Veneto region. Camping Ca’Savio has taken part in and supported many of these efforts. We’ve also worked independently to help our guests understand the value of this natural habitat and to raise awareness about the importance of respecting the dunes.
Every small act of care—like staying on designated paths to avoid harming the plants or disturbing local wildlife—helps protect this unique habitat. Together, we can ensure that the dunes continue to shelter rare species and safeguard our coastline for the future.
