In proximity of Camping Ca’Savio there are many bike itineraries, quite short and with simple routes, ideal also for families with small children. The routes are paved, so you don’t need to ride a mountain bike, but just a city bike.
A very simple cycle route, starting from the Conche of Cavallino along the Litoranea Veneta, an ancient commercial shipping route from Venice to the Gulf of Trieste. The journey takes about an hour, for a total of 8.5 kilometers.
The departure is from Santa Maria Elisabetta Square: from the north lagoon you will reach the mouth of the Sile river, along the Casson canal and the Litoranea Veneta. Cycling across the Cavallino-Treporti peninsula you will admire the district of Faro Piave Vecchia, the Fish nets along the Sile and the lighthouse of Cavallino: then you will reach the departure place, Santa Maria Elisabetta Square.
An easy and completely paved route, starting from Ca’ Savio beach along the coastline of Cavallino-Treporti, where you will admire the military buildings erected on the coast to protect the city of Venice during the battles of the past. The forts date back to Austrian domination, but many of these were also used during the two world wars. The itinerary stretches for 18 kilometers and takes about a two hours ride.
This route is called sunset route as it offers a truly impressive show at dusk, when the horizon on the lagoon of Venice is tinged by thousands of beautiful shades.
Starting from Punta Sabbioni you will get straight into the heart of the northern lagoon, crossing the typical villages of Treporti, Saccagnana, Le Mesole and Lio Piccolo. The route is about 23 kilometers long and it takes about 2 hours. The route, however, it is not really complicate as it runs along a completely paved road.
