Per favorire il ripristino della flora
On our journey, we have found ourselves asking one question time and time again: what does it mean to be a forward-looking campsite?
To find the answer, we decided to stop, contemplate and reimagine Camping Ca’Savio as a living ecosystem, where people, nature and the land can interact every day.
This process of reflection allowed us to create a pathway paved with concrete actions and conscious choices, which form our “Stepping Stones”: places, spaces and experiences within the campsite that reflect our particular commitment to the future, our care for our guests, and our dedication to the land.
Before embarking on this journey, we made some very specific choices, always guided by our core values: a reception area perfectly integrated into the landscape, expanded green spaces, an area free from light pollution to admire the stars, and respect for the natural ecosystem surrounding the campsite.
Only later did we realise that these choices – all perfectly aligned with our identity – were in fact the first steps on our pathway, defining an approach focused on the environment, respect for the land and human well-being. The choices we made in the past laid the foundations for our future direction.
We have identified the places, experiences and practical actions throughout the campsite that really embody our values. Additionally, we decided to build on the existing elements with new actions and ideas, with the goal of creating a more responsible and conscientious campsite.
A key step on this pathway was our collaboration with MonViso Institute, a research, training and experimentation laboratory dedicated to sustainability and new lifestyles, which supported us in planning our transition towards sustainability with a higher level of awareness.
We decided to call the interconnected elements that make up this pathway Stepping Stones.
In nature, stepping stones are small islands or areas that animals use to move around safely, such as the rocks that frogs hop on to cross a pond or the forest clearings that guide migratory birds. These natural places help animals move, adapt and stay in contact. Our Stepping Stones work in a similar way: each stone forms part of an interconnected pathway that leads into the future.
The Stepping Stones are places, experiences and spaces that you can find within the campsite, all marked with signs.
They include natural areas, such as the Garden and the Dunes; activities, such as the Experience Lab, entertainment or bike rides; and accommodation that offers a new way of interacting with nature, such as the Nordisk Village tents or the Lodges.
Each stone is an expression of our current commitments and marks the direction in which we want to go: a campsite that is more conscientious, welcoming and connected to its surroundings.
There is no predefined pathway: you can explore freely and follow your own curiosity.
Each Stepping Stone has its own story: on the dedicated webpage, you can find information, pictures and hints to delve a little deeper.
Use the interactive map below or the signs around the campsite to discover them all, one step at a time.
